Charlie Holt has curated a collaborative show at the Merzbarn ...Ambleside in the Lake District was the last studio where German artist Kurt Schwitters worked...the Merzbarn is now owned by the Littoral trust who are trying to keep the legacy of Scwitters alive......he was one the most important and influential artists of the 20 th century...producing collages ..writing poetry and plays .....Charlie Holt has brought together two Keralan poets Kavitha Balakrishnan and Kuzhur Wilson.

Kavitha is presenting a series of illustrated poems and a recently published set of poems by Cycle Press in the form of a slightly oversized matchbox.
Kuzhur is showing a collaborative project with Charlie Holt .....Kuzhurs text with digital collages by Charlie.
We also have a recording of Kuzhur reading poetry in create a sound collage at the event.
Charlie Holt is exhibiting a series of collages on canvas that are based on the surrealist notion of random and chance. He is also showing some small irregular collages on posters from the streets that have random text from books stuck to them ....they tell an unusual story.
The show also includes photos and text from the recent Trikana Festival.....a real link between art in a village in India and art in the countryside in the in the margins.
Charlie says he likes the idea of bringing cultures together to explore ideas.....this collaboration he feels is just the start and could be one of many.
